Hello everyone! Man, it's been way too long since I've updated this thing. I spent a lot of time working with various .NET blog engines, and the site was temporarily down as a result. I had a few updates to make to my resume, so I decided to go ahead and update the 1.0 version of the website, and work on the new blog engine in parallel.
This is by far the busiest time in my life, and I absolutely love it. I’m working on three projects at Interactive Intelligence, one of which is a major Asp.NET 3.0 web application. It handles the discounting for our online ordering system, and involves lots of financial calculations and business logic. At Interactive, I’m also handling two .NET 2.0 WinForms applications. I am working more on my PokerMine project, and have employed three class members to help. We’re going to mine historical and real-time poker data using modern data mining techniques. I’m also working on a personal project that will utilize this mined data, more to come on this later. If that wasn’t enough work, I’m also working on a project for my networking class that involves creating a proxy from scratch. Fun stuff.
Tomorrow I’ll be at the Microsoft offices on 96th street attending two events. The first is ArcReady, which will discuss techniques that we have used and techniques we will use in the future to build connected, dependant, distributed applications. The second half of the event features Bill Steele, and he will be talking about WPF and .NET SP1. It’s going to be a great show. Make sure to get registered if you can make it out.
Anyway, thank you for reading. If you would like to meet up to discuss technology, or have a project idea that you want to make a reality, feel free to contact me.

Hi everyone. I updated the resume page today, and took down a broken link in the articles section. Finals week will come to an end in less than 7 days, and I will be able to do some major updating. I’m also starting a new job soon...I’ll keep you updated.
I was asked a very interesting question in a recent interview: “What makes you have passion about programming?”
That’s right, passion! I said “Good Question.” Software development is one of the few careers which requires both logical and artistic abilities. Add in the fact that the technology available to developers changes magnitudes faster than that available to other careers, and you have a job which requires passion to succeed.
How am I passionate about software? I’m to the point where I enjoy nothing more than to study software. Even with fulltime work and school, I find myself studying for my MCTS in Windows/Distributed systems, rereading articles in MSDN magazine, competing on TopCoder, trying to understand Dr. Knuth’s third book, improving sample code from Dr. Dobbs’ journals, working on my Oracle 10g certification, writing articles for this website, etc.. You know you’re hooked when you pack four programming books for a weeklong trip to Florida, or three books to a conference in Vegas.
Why do I do it? I love it. Elegance, performance, re-usability...there is always a way to make an application better, faster, and more robust.

Today is my wonderful sister's 27th birthday. I'm sure she would be
THRILLED if she knew I just released that information to the world. (Or, more
specifiially, the 5-10 people that read what I post here.)
So, I'm back from Vegas. I'm still currently putting together photo's to
add to the site, along with many things that are planned but haven't been
approved by my time management elf.
PS: I'm currently working on a WCF application to share gathered and
implied statistics of poker play. Math, poker, asynchronous development,
new (awesome) ways of communication...it should blow your mind. Coming
soon to a website near you. (THIS ONE. Ha.)

I agree. I have been ignoring my loyal website visitor population.
I'm sorry. It wont happen again. =)
Seriously though, I've been really really busy. Combine midterms with a
huge work project with a strict deadline thats coming soon, and you're left with
not much time for leisure web programming or article writing.
Anyway, thanks for visiting.

Hi everyone, hope you're enjoying your holiday season. Today I uploaded a
few pictures of our children (cats), and changed the format of the C# article to
PDF. I'm really busy these days trying to learn the inner workings of MFC,
which can be hard for a .NET guy. This had to happen sometime; here we are.
Anyway, check out the pictures of our cats. They're adorable. Have a
great day.

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope it was great. I took advantage of the
day off and finished my first .NET article. You can find it in the
development section, please let me know what you think.

Hello world. Today is a great day. Why is that, you ask? No, today
is not a great day because I fixed the error that was causing the master page footer
to display over the content page text. No, today is not a great day because
it is Friday. (Although that would count normally) Today is a great
day because I found out that I'm getting my first real job. Thats right world,
I've finally grown up. The company is
Imagine Products, and boy do they seem
cool. I'll finally get a chance to put all of this independent learning effort
to use, and make some money while I'm at it.
For those of you who actually care about when I add new things to the website, your
luck could soon change. I'm currently finishing articles on projects I have
completed this semester; expect them to be uploaded by January 7. Have a wonderful day :)

Hello everyone! It's been almost 3 weeks since I've updated the site, mostly
due to finals. I've added a new
pictures section. If
you check it out now you will find a selection of wedding pictures, but soon I will
be adding pictures of the honeymoon(pg-13) and possibly pictures of our children(cats).
The next thing I will be updating is the
development
section, as I have been spending
most of my time working on my final .NET project. This is a C# 2.0 project
that reads data from a
PokerStars
log file and saves in into a database. The
classes that will be explained here will eventually be extended to a robust poker statistical system. Also, I'm working on getting at least
a few songs up on the site. If you're actually reading this, and you'd like
me to upload some songs, please
contact
me. It just might be the push I need
to get my ass in gear. Love you all!

Today I finished the resume and contact pages. I'm still working on getting
compressed versions of certain songs that I want to put up on the music page.
I'm also finishing a project involving empiricle analysis of sorting algorithms
using c++. I'll give full details when I'm finished. If you have a link
that you would like me to put in the links section, please dont hesitate to
contact me.

Hello World! I always knew that would be a part of my first post when I finally
created a website. For those of you who don't get it, don't worry. This
just means that you haven't wasted nearly as much time as me learning programming.
So, as an everyday joebehymer.com visitor, what can I expect to change? Everything!
This new site will include (or try to include) everything that I am currently working
on. If you have any questions (or answers) visit the contact page.
